Douglas Aircraft made Santa an attractive offer on a DC-8 if he traded in the sleigh, signed a 15 year supplier agreement and if he would wet lease it out during the off season. This video is really showing Clay Lacy flying the aircraft with the Human Fly strapped to the top. What is really impressive is the low passes.

What are the chances of the FAA approving something like that today?

I think I remember seeing this guy on That’s Incredible back in the day. At 4:03 in the video, the film changes to footage by CBC, and the DC-8 has a stripe painted on it. Then the film switches back to the desert. Maybe the Human Fly was rendered unconscious more than once doing this.

I still like bare aluminum planes.

That’s Incredible was an awesome/horrible show. I loved it.
